June 1925; an aerial view of the Palace then owned by Hartley & Roberts. It sits prominently on Leeds Road at the junction with Holme Street. The Alexandra Billard Hall (1908, named after the Queen Consort to Edward VII) abuts the back of the stage and is still there (2014) along with old property on its other side.
The axis of the Palace is parallel to Holme Street and not perpendicular to Leeds Road. That leaves a wedge-shape-plan entrance building which, if my memory serves correctly, was demolished when Leeds Road was turned into a dual-carriageway. The building, inevitably looked very rough/raw.
