The cinema was only months away from being tripled when ‘Dog Day Afternoon’ was playing in early 1976. This film was of too minority appeal - at least here in the UK and notwithstanding the star Al Pacino - for a building which still seated 1773. Had it been released at the end of the year it would certainly have played in either ABC 2 or 3.
