The theater that helped launch the GCC Carrollton Towne Square 6 was its older sibling caddy corner called the GCC Furneaux Creek Cinemas 7. It launched with this grand opening ad on December 9, 1983. The Furneaux was so successful that GCC would add a second six-plex to the area. Cinemark also came into the zone which would enter the 1990s with 21 screens. Just over ten years later, the zone would be right back to zero screens as all three theaters would leave.
