Troxy Theatre Stepney London

Photograph of the original Wurlitzer installed at the Troxy in 1933. The three manual console was fitted with a special “second touch” device that enabled the organist, by pressing the key a little deeper, to bring through other instruments additional to those reproduced by the first touch. The Wurlitzer was built at the English Wurlitzer factory. Bobby Pagan (see inset above) the Northern Broadcasting and Recording musician was appointed resident organist at the Troxy theatre in 1933.
