That building just rising above the Leader is P.S. 217, where I went to public school. That apartment house on the left is on the corner of Ditmas Ave and Coney Island Avenue. I used to go to the Leader on Saturdays as a kid when it cost 26 cents for a double feature and lots of cartoons. Mr. D, who looked like he came from gangster central casting, was the manage of the Leader and the nearby Kent.
