Nashville Then: A 1968 Highlight – Patrons of the Tennessee Theater wait on Church Street in downtown Nashville, Tennessee as Metro firemen search the building for a blaze after an usher spotted smoke in the auditorium during the showing of “Wild in the Streets” movie June 8, 1968. After searching about 45 minutes for flames, the firemen then left after not finding anything and the show continued for about 500 theater goers.
