I worked at the National in the early 1980s, starting in concenssions, moving to the front door, then “King Candy” and finally assistant manager. (See my long comment in the comments section.) This is a list I made at the time of famous patrons, most of whom we let in for free to be able to chat with them for minute before the headed up the stairs to the theater. Some on the list came for the many premieres held at the National.
