World premiere of MGM biopic EDISON THE MAN was held in six theaters in the Oranges on May 16, 1940. There was a live TV broadcast from the Hollywood, where Spencer Tracy and Rita Johnson were interviewed by NBC’s Ray Forrest and Jack Fraser. Edison’s widow and other members of his family were in attendance.
