The Event started at 11:00pm on Saturday, January 21, 1967. It was a two day event that was held at the Tivoli Theatre and Memorial Auditorium. Channel 3 WRCB provided the coverage of the marathon.This was the first of a series of March of dimes Telerama’s that lasted for 11 years. By the end of the marathon in 1967, Chattanooga area residents had called in with pledges that totaled $65,115. The Goal of the March of Dimes event was to raise funds to fight birth defects.
