Best Wishes, but beware of post-hurricane “bargains!” If there was ever a time that you need an experienced THEATRE inspector, now is that time. I believe the the League of Historic American Theatres (www.lhat.org) and possibly the Theatre Historical Society (www.historictheatres.org) both have lists of such men. You may also want to scan the Archives of the FORUMS on www.bigscreenbiz.com to learn of the very difficult economics of running a cinema today!

There was a bunch of theaters in the Tampa area that closed within the last 5 years when AMC came in and built tons of multiplexes. I don’t know if they are still empty but here is the list that I know about.
Carmike Hillsboro 8
Carmike University Collections (Had exclusive showing of The Color Pruple in 1985)
Carmike Main Street 5
United Artists Movies At Mission Bell
AMC Varsity 6
AMC Horizon Park 4
AMC Twin Bay 4
Regal Hollywood 20. This was a stadium theater that Regal closed when it went into bankruptcy less than a year of operation.
