CHICAGO, IL — Film critic Roger Ebert will be honored June 23rd with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

A couple weeks later, on July 12th, the Illinois native will be also honored in Chicago, with Mayor Richard Daley declaring that day “Roger Ebert Day” and also with the dedication of a plaque in the sidewalk in front of the landmark Chicago Theatre on State Street.

At the sixth annual Chicago Outdoor Film Festival at Grant Park, which also kicks off on July 12th, Ebert will debut the first of several films he has selected to be shown each Tuesday during the seven week-long event. Among Ebert’s choices are “E.T.”, “Star Wars”, “Citizen Kane”, “Annie Hall”, and “The Hustler”.

They should make it a Roger & Gene night, one without the other, even though gone, just does not seem right.
