TOP 200 USA GROSSING MOVIE THEATERS: Anybody have such a list?

posted by optimist008 on October 26, 2007 at 7:40 am

Have never seen this in Boxoffice magazine or similiar trades, but have heard such a list exists of the top grossing 200 movie theaters in America. Distributors are clamoring for their trailers to be shown in these top grossing houses.

Has anybody ever seen such a list please and/or know where it is accessible?? Google search did not work…

Thank You Much.

The Box Office Mojo site used to provide that information, but apparently they stopped doing it in 2003:

Each Sunday evening TV News broadcasts give the top “dollar” grossing movie of the week and it’s usually a Jock or Bimbo themed film.

I honestly don’t think that the amount spent on attendances is totally fair, due to the fact that various cinemas charge different prices. This also fails to include manager comps or discounts.

Perhaps the news programs should have the actual attendance number of paid AND free tickets issued. Of course, we’ll never know how many people CRUISE FOR FREE from one screen to another!

I knew several managers that would resale tickets not to mention how many doormen and box office girls would do the same thing. 99% of the time they don’t want the stub anyways.
