Regal opens multiplex in luxury outlet mall

DEER ISLAND, NY — The Regal Deer Park Stadium 16 & IMAX is having a week-long grand opening celebration with free popcorn and soft drinks with each paid admission October 24th through October 30th.

The theater is located in The Arches, a newly opened luxury outlet center with 70 stores on New York’s Long Island. The Regal cinema features more than 2,900 seats

Regal Entertainment Group is the largest theater circuit in the US, having 551 theaters and 6,782 screens.

What??? Digital projection isn’t installed in all 16 screens??? You mean they actually put in 35MM projectors??? Have mercy!!!!

If the largest auditorium has side masking (a feature that’s actually in new Regal builds), then they should install a century JJ 35/70MM projector & run classics like “Lawrence of Arabia”, “2001”, etc…

Ooops, my bad. I forgot that Regal is not an indie chain. They’re ran by accountants who don’t think showmanship is real.

Sounds a lot like the AMC in Rockaway, which has 35mm projectors for theatrical films and 2k projectors for NCM content with an IMAX Digital projector on the way next year. Plus it’s run by private people.
