Connecticut Film Fest (Finale) is granted a reshoot for 2009
DANBURY, CT — With a very successful 2008 behind them, the Connecticut Film Festival looks towards next year.
“Very positive,” “money well spent,” and “impetus for a signature event with tangible results” were some of the phrases a Danbury Common Council ad hoc committee used to describe the 2008 Connecticut Film Festival, which overtook downtown for six days last May. Pending approval from the city’s Corporation Counsel, the committee unanimously approved $65,000 for the touring festival to make its final stop in Danbury again next May.
Yes, that’s $10,000 less than the city gave festival organizer Tom Carrruthers last year. Carrruthers says he wants to give the city some relief, and will have more money from the state and time to prepare for the festival in ‘09.
