Why purchase seats directly from China?

posted by bobyang on September 3, 2008 at 10:30 am

The labor cost in China is just about 5% of the labor cost in North America. Also the raw material cost (plastic, steel and wood)is much much lower than the North America.
That is why a Chinese seat is much cheaper than a local seat made in North America.

For example, a normal upholstered seat with a cupholder, steel armrest and rocker back, is about $60. With the shipment cost of approximately $10, it is $70 totally. But one similar seat in US local market can be sold at about $190.

As we know, most of the North America local suppliers get seats from Chinese factories, then resell them to an end-user to make a large profit.

Now since we all live in the world village, why not get goods from the most suitable place? What is wisdom? Wisdom is to get laptop from Dell or IBM, to get a seat directly from Kangdi-the largest seat factory in China.

I am the Overseas Market Manager of Kangdi seating. Yes, I am writing here to advertise our products, but I am also trying to save your money. Why not?

For the import custom affairs, please do not worry, I will arrange it all for you, and send the seats to your place.

I will be highly appreciative to receive your inquiry. Just have a try please.

If you have interest to be our agent or partner, welcome, we have much support to our agents.

This is not the appropriate site for the selling of your product. Cinema Treasures was designed to be a celebration of movie theaters, not the profiteering of theater suppliers. My two cents.

And here’s my nickel’s worth… Is almost everyone fed up with constant monthly (or more) adds for “old or used cinema/theater wanted” by the same person(s)? I certainly am!

Perhaps CT could review all “wanted & for sale” entries BEFORE they are published and delete the profit racketeers or charge them a hefty fee.

A resounding YES to “42nd Street Memories” as to keeping CT for what it was designed for.

Mr. Yang,

No need to apologies as you are well within your rights to post what you did, as you are correct in the fact that there is a “for sale” section on this site.

I am also under the impression that the moderators of this site also revue all main page listings before they publish them on their site. So if they had any problems with your information they would have not have published it.

The 2 CT members above need to understand that there are preservationist(such as myself)that use this site to gain all sorts of invaluable information on all aspects of old and new theaters. Just last week I drove 2,600 miles round trip to Jackson Michigan and back to purchase and pickup 2 cinemacanica Victoria X’s 35 /70 mm projectors for the 25th Street Theater in Waco Texas as I am the head of that non profit restoration group who has been searching 5+ years for that historically correct equipment. Would you care to guess where I saw the add? You Bet, right here on CT!!!!! In addition to the 25th project I also own the 1912 TEXAS theatre in Mcgregor Texas and in the process of slowly restoring that 500 seat venue to reopen as family owned movie house.

Thanks CT for all you do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks, texas25th.
If the moderator want me to delete it, i will do surely.

However I always trust that our seat can save you much money comparing with the North America made seats.

Thanks CT!

Looked at your site, liked what I saw. Am in process of putting a mini theatre together in New Zealand. Was buying equipment from America, but the financial crash put prices up. Have book marked your site.
