CAPE MAY, NJ — With the Beach Theatre in danger, a group is now looking into turning it into a hotel.
A group trying to save the city’s last movie theater is exploring building a hotel on the site to save at least one of the four movie screens.
President Steve Jackson, of the Beach Theatre Foundation, said it may be possible to fit 50 to 75 hotel rooms on the property, and thus entice a developer willing to pay $12 million for the Beach Avenue property. Jackson said a hotel could be built on the property, which takes up a city block, while still retaining part of the movie theater.

I want to see this. Like they are really going to save one of the movie theatres screens, RIGHT. Just what the area needs, another hotel. Screw the hotel, save the theatre!!!!
Although I’m not a resident of the NY-NJ area, I agree with you here, movie534. Right on!
My mom sent me that article from the AC Press. World’s worst newspaper, hands down.
they just repainted and put all new doors on the joint (i know cause they were working on it as i painted my new theater) only to see it maybe come down in oct…what a waste, but finding parking there is a nightmare
