Bowtie Cinemas boycotted over gun policy

The Bow Tie Cinema may not be a member of a crime syndicate, but whenever a company denies citizens of Virginia the lawful right to defend themselves, they become a friendly place for criminals.

A group of gun enthusiasts wanted to show their support to businesses that abided by Virginia’s open carry (OC) gun laws. This group thought Bowtie Cinemas was their friend. However, they were told by the manager, they could not bring their guns into the theater. They called the Bowtie Cinemas corporate office to confirm this to be true. They were told no guns of any kind were allowed, but then changed to no one except law enforcement. They have stats that show how unsafe the area is, but I think they just want their rights respected. The group is now starting a boycott of Bowtie Cinemas.

I wish Bow tie Cinemas would have that policy in West Hartford. It would be life threatening to ask anyone to turn off a cell phone. there is always a good chance they may have a gun. There have been numerous incidents and with no security or managers ever in sight, you need to be very careful there.

The Blog is at Old Viriginia News and there’s an article too.

This is the most stupid thing I’ve ever seen posted to CinemaTreasures. Of course people should not be allowed to carry guns into a movie theatre! I would not go to a theatre that did allow this.
