Happy to see that the magic of the movie theatre will never go away.

The future of home theater???
If this be the future of home theatre, let alone movie theatres generally, I’m afraid that the United States is in far bigger trouble than I even imagined.
The dumbing down of America continues unabated. Honestly…..How pathetic can things get?
Sorry to keep up my put-down of this idea, but what do the manufacturers of these little “personal movie theatre” kits think? That Americans are in a permanent adolescent state, or have reverted back to adolescence, where they buy all these kits and put them together? That’s what it seems like, to me. Well…I’ve got news for everybody; I ain’t buying it.
I’ll take the real honest-to-goodness movie theatres, inotherwords, the Real McCoy regarding movies, if one gets the drift. Thanks.
Hey, come on guys/gals. How many of you have ever wanted to own/run a movie theatre. Well, here’s your chance. For me it was always changing the titles on the marquee and with this there’s no need to climb a tall ladder. Also ideal for someone into model trains, a functioning theatre in the layout.
Hi. I’m angry.
GOOD GRIEF-RELAX
WOW, a theater with curtains and an usher in uniform! Most folks have never seen such a theater, what a great way to show them what a theater should really look like! They sit in a big shoe box that doesn’t look as good to watch a movie and here is a real shoe box that looks better then what they sit in!
www.personalmovietheater.com is an expired domain as far as I can tell.
To bad, the more people that see what a theater should look like the better, and I did want to make one for my Lionel model train layout.
I was mistaken it does work, good!
Seriously, though…..What is the purpose of this personal toy of a movie theatre?
We get it after the first post you don’t like this thing but please just relax. It’s not the end or even the beginning of the end of movie theaters. Do you honestly think someone is going to see this and think “Wow! A movie theater in a shoe box that actually shows real movies! Oh yeah, that’s how I’ll watch my movies from now on! Shoebox Cinemas, yea!!!” I don’t think so. It’s just an imaginative and fun idea that someone had and nothing more. It’s not one of the signs of the movie theater apocalypse so don’t worry.
As for the purpose? It’s a toy. That’s it’s purpose. Kind of like the Easy Bake Oven. As far as I recall, that didn’t replace real ovens so I’m confident this won’t replace real movie theaters.
Some of you guys are taking this way too seriously. The people who did this were just having fun and it is a good model after all.
The end of civilization/America comments are hysterical. It’s a cute novelty toy not the downfall of mankind in a box.
I think its cool, not the real thing, but interesting.
Okay, points taken, terrysmith, KramSacul, KingBiscuits and bob1007. Thanks. It’s an interesting concept, and might be a model for the building of more real movie theatres, maybe.
