Cinema Treasures really needs some sort of editorial control – the same poster has made identical comments across several pages here.
I agree; spammers seldom get their junk removed, and now this one gets a front page spot.
Yes, I’m a theater operator and I received 2 unsolicited emails from this one guy in one day. I’m not in the market for seats, because I bought Irwin seats which really last, and are made in America. Maybe the Chinese seats have improved, but most are cheaper for a good reason, they just don’t last.
But back to this guy, it’s low rent. This is cinematreasures, not craigslist.
If it’s true that he’s posting “across several pages,” I suggest you send a list to the Mods. They may ban him.

Whose comments are not true? The issue is whether or not the OP is using Cinema Treasures as a platform to advertise his wares. I don’t mind seeing a company get promoted once in a while, but these seat guys seem to pop up over and over again. And if he’s spamming CT users with emails, then he’s really abusing the system.
John, which pages has he commented on?
The ads occur as “Comments” on various news items, sometimes more than once; just click on his name above after “posted by: above to see the list.
I suppose this goes to the core of what Cinema Treasures is – I like to think it’s mission extends from the excellent Cinema Treasures book by Ross Melnick and Andreas Fuchs and supplements the material there. With that said there are other sites appealing to theater operators (Film-Tech is a more appropriate venue, they have a classifieds thread). I’m all for the news feed displaying items, perhaps even memorabilia for classic theaters and information on how to purchase this – but the idea of randomly posting here and having it appear on the front page reflects poorly on the site, and perhaps they should solicit more members for moderator roles – even to chime in and get the conversation on some threads on topic.
I have written to the moderators using the proper form here about one hopeless thread for a multiplex that has over 1000+ entries most of which is off topic/tangental babel and banter amongst members, the theater is less than 4 years old! These conversations should be housed somewhere else. I would just hate to see the value of the site – which is at its core is a hobby (although I think someone could do a doctoral dissertation on exhibition, I would only take what’s here with a certain amount of other fact checking), be devalued by a lack of direction as much as I value its openness.
Perhaps each and EVERY ENTRY on CT should go through a screening basis and not be released if it does not meet CT’s codes.
On the other hand, how about CT receiving a paid-in-advance-fee of “X” number of dollars, per word, before it is released for everyone to see or read???????

The correct way is to post once in a while. I apologize! If i can, i am willing to delete most.
But this is the ‘For sale’ section, so many posters left messages here to sell seats, screens, concession etc. I do share this right, correct? but i should pop up once in a while.
We need to understand that there are preservationist use this site to gain all sorts of invaluable information on all aspects of old and new theaters. All correct info regarding theatre is welcomed.
I wanna expose that many ‘MADE IN AMERICA’ seats of Irwin and other US companies are made in China actually. Maybe you do not know Irwin did have factory in China. Maybe you do not know many Chinese companies are selling huge quantity seats to US OEM customers, finally the seats are marked with US brand, dressed up as Made In America.
By the way, I am driving Chevrolet car and using Dell computer to type this comment. My kids eat KFC and Mcdonald’s often.
I like Starbucks, but but but i can not afford it, so expensive!!!
Avon, Cisco, P&G, Colgate, Coca-cola, Adidas, Nike, Maybelline,JNJ, Kodak, HP……. are full of the China shops, including Wal-Mart.

For seat, we do have advantage. I am telling the truth.

It’s easy to have 8% GDP growth when you build unneeded skyscrapers in Beijing, and unneeded steel mills in the suburbs. The problem with this is that the piper must eventually be paid. The Chinese people are prone to riots when things don’t go their way. So when the eventual correction comes I hope your factory isn’t burned down in the ensuing unrest.
The West has been giving way too much leeway to China for way too long. I’m waiting for the day when Western CEO’s finally figure out that they can’t drop a KFC into every dirt poor village and sell chicken to a billion people. When they do the ride will be over, becasue the comparative manufacturing cost advantages have already been shown to be dubious. If you want to argue with me on that point I’ll direct you to the guy I know whose company makes millions a year fixing shipping containers full of defective Chinese merchandise before it goes to market in the U.S.

Tell you what KDS…I’ll look at your chairs when your govt drops import tariffs from US goods. You have an advantage, all right. It’s called manipulated currency, no environmental waste regulation and lack of wage standards.
I love that you drop all of these things that you do as some sort of justification. Your kids really shouldn’t eat KFC or Mcdonalds ever, hardly often. I feel better now that I see you rattle off Avon, Cisco etc and realize that I don’t purchase any of those goods from those companies, especially walmart…just a bunch of shiny cheap crap that breaks right away…with your lovely lead paint!
