CENTERVILLE, OH — Oberleitner Associates, a Dayton Ohio-based cinema consulting firm has announced the launching of a new website,, as an outreach to small chain and non-profit cinemas, according to company president, John L. “Jack” Oberleitner. In a quote to the media, Oberleitner said, “These are perilous times for small cinema operators, non-profit theatre restoration projects and those wishing to enter the business or expand existing companies. Our company has over 40 years experience in working with these types of venues and organizations as a full service cinema consulting company. Our fee schedule is reasonable with special discounts to many types of organizations. Our website includes complete information, examples of our work and references. I am pleased that we are at a point where we can accept a small number of new clients.”

Oberleitner, a regular Cinema Treasures contributor, entered the movie business as an usher in a small Western Pennsylvania theatre in 1959. He climbed through the Pittsburgh-based Associated Theatres ranks to become a district manager. Branching out on his own, Oberleitner restored the lavish Capitol Theatre in Milton Pennsylvania. From these beginnings he eventually controlled over 50 screens in PA and OH. Oberleitner Associates was formed in the 1970’s to advise and assist theatre owners in maximizing their profit potential in a rapidly changing business climate. Oberleitner is also a popular public speaker, has been the head of several charities and has several published books for younger readers. Now semi-retired, he devotes his time to advising a select number of clients.
