Last of three movie theater murals to be unveiled in downtown Hayward
HAYWARD, CA — The movie theater mural mentioned here is finally complete.
After two and a half years of laborious effort and nearly losing his artist assistant fiance in a near fatal scaffold fall accident on the project, Bay Area, Award-Winning Artist Andrew Kong Knight has completed his third and final monumental mural in the series called “Hayward Meets Hollywood,” located in his hometown in downtown Hayward, Ca.
Knight’s latest three story high, mega mural called “Night at the Silver Screen,” will have it’s scaffold removed and will be seen in it’s entirety this Thursday for the first time.“Hollywood Meets Hayward,” is a series of three murals that surrounds the Cinema Place Parking Structure located at the corner of Foothill Boulevard and C Street in downtown Hayward, California.
When?
Thursday April 12th (Rain or Shine)
The scaffold dis-assembly and unveiling of the mural:
8:30AM to 10AM
Artist Andrew Kong Knight and artist assistant/fiance available for on location photos and interviews: 8:30AM to 6PM
Where?
Two murals in the series are located on the corner of Foothill Blvd. and Cst. on the Cinema Place Parking Structure
The mural that will be unveiled faces west in the alleyway off of C St. located next to Herndon Chiropractic Building at:
