Digital conversion has small, independent movie theaters reeling

FOREST CITY, NC — Theaters around the world continue to grapple with the challenge of converting to digital. Time is running out and the Retro Cinema 4 is doing all it can to not be another one of the victims.

It’s a shame a theater named “Retro Cinema” is going to have to convert. If only there was a business model that would allow them to stay open and show 35MM prints (although archival prints are out – they have platters).
