Moviegoers say goodbye to the Saginaw 12

SAGINAW MI — After 40 years in operation, the Saginaw 12, originally the Quad, closed its doors after the last shows Sunday. Moviegoers saw a video montage of the history of the Quad/Saginaw 12 in the lobby and some lucky moviegoers went home with pieces of the theaters' screens with the opening and closing dates stamped on the screen fragments.

Invited moviegoers will get a sneak peak at its replacement, the Quality 10 GDX, for a set of benefit screenings on Thursday before the new state of the art cinema opens to the general public on Friday. The Saginaw 12 will be torn down. Both theaters are owned by Goodrich Quality Theaters.

Further details including video are at ABC.
