11th Hour for Historic Raymond Theatre!!!
PASADENA, CA — On March 15th, the City of Pasadena will attempt to grant permits to gut the interior of the Raymond Theatre (formerly known as Perkin’s Palace). Our sixteen year battle to stop unnecessary development of the theater into an apartment/retail/shopping center will be over.

Seeking Theater Groups in Need of a Website
Sean Network Web Development is looking to do web development work for any non-profit theatre related groups (such as owners of theaters, “Friends of” groups, “Save the” groups, etc.) for little or no cost.

California Theater Seeks Revival
PITTSBURG, CA — In early spring of 1919, the Pittsburg Post newspaper announced that the Enea brothers of the Palace Theater “will erect a handsome new playhouse on Railroad Street, which will embody in every way a most modern type of theatre building, handsome in appearance and substantial in construction.”

Villa Theatre Sale Delayed
The ongoing sale of the Villa Theatre in Salt Lake City, Utah has apparently gone past its ending date, but Harmons is still working with the prospective buyer. The buyer plans to develop the property with the Villa as the center of an “entertainment center” with shops and restaurants. The Villa would be either a night club and/or dinner theater.

Villa Theatre To Become Furniture Showroom?
Harmons Grocery has told the Utah Heritage Foundation that they will most likely sell the Villa Theatre in Salt Lake City to a Los Angeles furniture manufacturer that would preserve the theater’s sign and facade, but use the use the interior of the building as a showroom. It is unclear what happened to the sale of the theater to buyer that wanted to convert the theater into a night club.
