Wow it was elaborate and beautiful. Fancy barn-LOL. What a waste to tear down such a handsome building. Detail is amazing. Ceiling and walls are lovely.
A very beautiful and important historic landmark for this city. Should be saved for the future. Ceiling and proscenium are incredible designs. One of the most handsome theatres in the country.
I remember this smaller neighborhood theatre in the 1950’s as having a curtain and clown murals that were colorful on the side walls. Movies shown there were family style general audience. In the 60’s and 70’s the clowns may have remained but the screen size was enlarged and sound improved I believe. Movies were more adult and porno was even introduced at times.
Seattle has an active Paramount theatre still as well. Was restored years ago with a much bigger stage and state of the art seating. Original blade sign too. Interior is french in style. Very elaborate and large auditorium. Located in a great area of downtown.
Deco handsome interior. Without the beautiful lights much is gone. They are great. Art deco relief work above the doors and around proscenium is great though. A lovely theatre and great it is still alive and well. Landmark is better than nothing. Cheers!
Handsome theatre moderne or deco. Great ceiling detail and curtain. Mural too. Reminds me of the basic style of the Northgate mall theatre in Seattle which was one of the first stand alone theatres in what is reported to be the first mall in the USA. The theatre is history now. Was large and had neon rings on the ceiling and all rounded corners inside and out. Huge deco marquee. Beautiful.
How tragic this all met the wrecking ball. Such is what is called progress. How modern! Not!
Pretty elegant digs. Like the colors and bar design.
Art Deco at it’s finest. Like the marquee and blade sign. Still a nice sign even today.
What an elaborate theatre ceiling. Great look.
Amazing curtain design and wall detail. Beautiful place.

Yes! This is the best period for this classic theatre. Palm trees are where they should be too. Add more!

Did this start as a silent screen theatre? Looks like organ pipes on each side of the stage. Nice deco details.
What a very handsome building. Art Deco and art moderne also. Love the center square columns.
A lovely elaborate theatre all around. Even under the marquee. Unusual detail and decor.

Would be nice to see interior. Sounds beautiful. Nice marquee and exterior.
Great this nice older building is alive and well. A new marquee would be nice and maybe a neon sign too. Great work keeping it going and restoration.
Nice art deco accents and a great marquee. Great box office too. Any interior pics anyone?
The Pantages and Rialto in Tacoma are still active theatres as is the Blue Mouse.
Great display. Lovely vintage theatre.
Beautiful curtain and proscenium. Deco lighting too.
