I read where the site that the Alamo was shot on is closing up due to lack of business.It was tourist attraction even though it was no where near San Antonio.It was in the August 31 2010 edition of the local paper there.
You are right Giles.But we all love MOVIE THEATRES and i am getting an education on modern theatres from Justin and the Gang,I managed in the 70’s and early 80’s.

No drive-ins listed at all in my 1956 Motion Picture Almanac for Texarkana,which i thought was a nice size town,think it would have had at least one Drive-in,Bob,in the fifties.
I saw a CNN report from Cuba and for maybe 3 or 4 seconds they showed a movie theatre,but it happened so fast i couldn’t recall the Spanish name,but it looked closed.
Andy, it parked 400 cars and was owned by Flordia Theatres.
I guess it is still open.I assumed it was long gone.

Perry, Fla,also had a Community Outdoor Drive-in and a another called Perry Drive-in Theatre.
I thought your Texas Theatres might be under the INTERSTATE Circuit in Dallas,but none were listed.I will keep looking.
Floyd Theatres HAD the Whole state it seemed to me!Much like MARTIN Theatres in Georgia.
Well, lets just close all the theatres.start with those 20 plus monster screens.Yep,Glad I got out of the Business in 1983.

Could the Drive-in had a name change? I have a Palm Drive-in there in 1956.
