The Ideal Theater was one of many small storefront movie theatres built in Columbus during the 1910’s.

Converted from retail space, it did not have a sloping floor. It operated only from 1914 to 1917, and is notable mainly because it is one of the few such buildings still standing today.

After the theater closed, the building became a grocery store and then the offices/workshop/storeroom for an awning company. Today, the building is a private home.

This was a long time ago, but it would be nice if someone would come up with photos or more info.
