No excuse for over selling a theatre,It was a stupid thing to do and then blame the moviegoer,Do not blame you LUVSMOVIES.You were most likely dealing with rookies.
Wow,Thanks Simon for a wonderful story. This event in Harlem,Ga. pulls about 40.000 folks each year. The town is small two or three policemen, a few thousand residents.I went one time and it was great, but so crowded you really didn’t have a great time even with the main street closed off and people filling the street.
From “DEEP THROAT” to “STAR WARS” Strange they would change formats and even stranger that moviegoers would even want to go into a XXX rated theatre even after the format change.
I guess by 1996,joshmassey, the GEORGIA SQ.MALL CINEMAS were either gone or getting ready to shut down. When I was there in the early 80’s we booked the best late shows for the UGA students,so Athens did even back in the 80’s have decent bookings.
No projection booth.Makes sense haven’t had real operators in the business since my days managing in 1983.Might as well have the concessionstand girls run the movie.Sad.
