Celina Cinema 5 is an old town theatre with the big old fashioned marquee. Originally the single screen, 1,000-seat Celina Theatre was opened by Chakeres Theaters Inc. on January 28, 1949 with Walter Pidgeon in “Julia Misbehaves”. It was split into a twin on December 23, 1982 and on November 23, 1988 three additional theatres were added to the left side of the lobby. By 2020 it was operated by UEC Theatres.

You’ll have to ask Lost Memory about the organ. I don’t think he’s gotten to Ohio yet.
This theatre was designed by John and Drew Eberson and would have opened in the late 1940’s.

Construction of the 66x145ft building started with a ground-break on April 5, 1947. They are originally planned to construct it earlier but was postponed due to the death of Leo Dwyer.
The Celina Theatre opened its doors with a capacity of 1,000 seats on January 28, 1949 with Walter Pidgeon in “Julia Misbehaves” with no extra short subjects.
It was twinned on December 23, 1982 featuring Dolby Stereo in both screens, and was renamed “Celina Cinemas 1 & 2”. Three more screens were added on November 23, 1988 and became a 5-screen theater known as the “Celina Cinema 5”.
