The Park Theater was opened on December 23, 1911 and closed as a theater in 1935. It then operated in several uses, including a print works, until 1980, when it fell into disrepair.
It was re-opened as a movie theater on January 29, 2010. It showed both mainstream films and independant films. The operators were working to try to get back as a single screen, but it closed in the summer of 2011. Following repairs and restoration, it reopened April 18, 2018 as a multi-use venue (including movies) in April 2018.

Best of luck,guys.
It’s great to have another old theater back in business. Planning to visit you soon.
Theater is closed, building had no air conditioning so once the summer hit it couldn’t sustain itself. The owner found another location in South Glens Falls but that theater is now closed too.
News articles indicate that this closed in the summer of 2011, not 2014.
Hudson River Music Hall Productions, Inc. purchased the historic Strand Theatre in Hudson Falls, NY. It is currently being renovated and small events are being held in the lobby area!
The Park Theater has a Facebook page. The most recent event posted was a concert on April 20, 2012. The most recent update to the page is from December 8, 2016. This article says that the project will receive a $600,000 grant from the State of New York.
The Park Theater is back. It was purchased in 2014 and the new owner just completed a $3 million renovation. It is now a full theater with a stage and all necessary equipment, a movie theater, a multi use venue, and a restaurant/bar. I work for the contractor that did the restoration. The theater is beyond beautiful. Please check out their website or Facebook page.
does this theater have digital projection?
I haven’t seen the inside of the building after the renovation but they did a great job on the outside. My complaint is that they got a $600,000 grant from NYS for a project that created very few full-time jobs after the construction was done. That and the woman who owns the business is rich enough to have paid for it all out of pocket. It doesn’t really operate as a movie theater very often, mostly performance art.
During construction, which took a couple of years, they parked construction and demolition debris dumpsters in the street taking up all but one parking space which effectively destroyed the local Subway franchise at the corner. While Subway wasn’t the greatest dining option in town it was the only fast-food option besides Burger King across the street. That Subway was packed on nights that there was an event at the Glens Falls Civic Center across the street.
