Could this Drive-in Had a name change? In 1956 in the Motion Picture Almanac there is a Montague Drive-in in Madison that held 810 cars and was owned by C.H.Kurtz.
Same with me on the basement stuff cutting of furances and A.C. at the IMPERIAL in Augusta.Ga. was an adventure for this young Assistant that mainly worked the newer suburb theatres! But i am glad i did get the chance to run the Imperial, like Dana.
TLSLOEWS, Go to AMC ATLANTIC TIMES SQUARE 14 under new Theatres,According to the header its “SUPPOSE TO BE THE LAST EVER LOWES”. My old buddies will get together about once a year and yap about the old days.I guess Robin is tied up with School. I am worried about Nick,he had some problems he wrote me about.I haven’t heard a word from him.A really nice guy. Better shut-up.I never thought folks would get upset about us posting on National Hills, which I have quit doing.
A great movie is on the marquee"THE VERDICT"one our Christmas movies i really enjoyed seeing an old pro like Newman back.Should have WON THE OSCAR!!!!!!!
It takes a bad"hood" to close Malls.Same thing happened at REGENCY MALL in Augusta.Woman got raped, one teenage girl was kidnapped found her out in woods with a shotgun blast to the face, yep it closed and so did a Triple theatre in the mall and an eight plex out in the parking lot.
Yeah,I kept thinkimg I wrote the wrong word.At least you caught it and not some of the guys who ssem to love to find grammar mistakes.I tried and tried to get on at NATIONAL HILLS,finally a girl in my homeroom named Peggy Ross finally got me in.It was like getting Tickets to the Masters Golf tournament, trying to get on at National Hills,It was a classy theatre and no long hair! You outta try and dig some of your old employees.I know it would hard and some might surprize you and say"i'am not interested".Boy,that has happened to me.Guess I am off topic, but we are talking theatre, not the Falcons or Titains.
Great picture. We had an Elite nickledeon in Augusta,i would like to think it looked something like the one in the picture. Thanks andy and major major.
I have it parking only 390 cars and was owned by Peter Garrette.
Must have closed before 1956.Not the Motion Picture 1956 Almanac.
