Yeah, It was a most beautiful Drive-in. I have a whole stack of Tickets never used from the HILLTOP.Found them the other day.Still has the string on them.
Yeah,Tlsloews you are right I see way too many of the same things we were doing on other theatres, but I will respect their wishes cause I am a southern gentleman.I will not post any more items on my favorite Theatres Columbia 1 and 2,National Hills or the Imperial unless they are theatre related. Thanks again You and Nick are okay,Robin Too. Hope she reads these. I am sure she will respect their wishes too.
Anyone that would pay $20.00 to see a movie needs their head checked. And they use to bitch when we went from $2.75 for a first run movie to $3.00 for “JAWS”. You guys are NUTS!
Movies that played there.
“ONE MILLION YEARS B.C.” and the second feature was “THE FASTEST GUITAR ALIVE” with Roy Orbison. I think we all know the lady that starred in the first feature on April 5.Sunday,Monday and Tuesday was “CASINO ROYALE” with Peter Sellers.Other features to follow that week were “IT IS A BIKINI WORLD”,“ROSIE” and"TOUGH NIGHT IN JERICHO".
I still have that patch from Plitt.Boy,we got Hell on National Hills Robin,You will have to read it,I guess I won’t be posting there anymore,Great pictures!
Did Chattanooga save any of the downtown Theatres. That 1978 marquee reminds me of so many black action films we played that decade in downtown theatres across the Nation.
I heard it from a Gastonia Native, since I live in Georgia I have no idea. One of the Streets behind the Drive-in was called Diane 29 Street or Road, can’t remember, but it was a most beautiful Drive-in at one time. I thought about taking the street sign,I guess they have changed the name of the street, but the Drive-in was long gone when I noticed the small street named Diane 29. So it might still be there. Part of Drive-in was still there.A FOOD LION had taken some of the lot.
Nothing left but the boxed Auditorium and it had concrete poured in it to level it out; the lobby and rest of the theatre gone,Just like i am from this site i really enjoyed.Stay on Topic in Nashville,Tlslowes.Your Theatre EMPLOYEE friend,Mike.
Ken. I am with you.I would much rather have a Drive-in than another stinking MUltiplex which has ruined the real theatre business.
I was told the PICKERS were in Swainsboro,Georgia at the old Drive-in there.I missed that show. Hi-Way 56 Drive-in on CT.

A pity a Decent Drive-in at one time had to go the smut route to make a profit.AS mush as love Drive-ins I think i would have closed her down.

Thanks for the picture.Doesn’t look like Scope pictures would play well there.
In the Charles Bronson movie “St.Ives” I thought there was an L.A. area drive-in it that movie.
I left Plitt before the guys from Canada bought them out.I wonder how they were to work for.
