Looking at the Google street view, there is a Marshall Theater building right about where 326 Houston Street is. Just a couple of doors down from 322 Houston, which is a furniture store.
Not on Main Street, but found this on Google Street View on Front St. In the 1984 picture, you can see what remains of the location. Most definitely Demolished. A perfect match of the building to the South of the theater.

I used to run a go-kart business in the late 70’s at the corner of Empire and Shell, just a block North. Shell St. did not exist as a road at that time however, just a dirt road to Empire from Montana St….
I lived there during that time, and the Fiesta on Mesa closed around the time the Fiesta opened on Montana. If memory serves me correctly, it was a move from Mesa Dr. to Montana. Just a simple marquee, and cheap screen.
Does the book mention the Rocket Drive-In? The Rocket was on Dyer, a little further out than this one I believe, And I don’t recall the Cactus name at all. This could be an AKA….
The Rocket was way out in the boonies, but the city has grown a lot out that way since then.
I went by the the Lynn a few weeks ago on my way back from the valley. I just happened to catch them there at 30 minutes to showtime. Place looks real nicely done inside. Certainly different than the last time I was there.
If calc would give permission, I’d like to photograph the inside so we can all see how it turned out.
Compare the detail on the column in the Google Street View with the 1910 photo in the first post. Pretty Cool…. Either original or made to look like the original.

You can tell by the building to the right of the Rex. They are the same. One building was added right next door, however.
Yes, the ‘87 photos were in Pioneer Town. Big clue is the dirt road in front, and take a look at this recent photo of Pioneer Town.

Only logical place for the drive in on E. Amarillo Blvd….. 1991 view shows the same outline, but with no buildings or structures on site.

If the address is correct, it looks like the Paradise Party Place. Looks like the side has been added onto, and the whole front facade obliterated.

Should be a flea market in the retail store parking lot on weekends, the retail store appears to have been closed long ago.
I spent a lot of time there as a kind in the late 60’s and early 70’s. Had a small playgound under the screen.

I was just going for the decoration on the column, but this is likely the exact spot of the theater, to the right of the restaurant then.
