On a family road trip, my sis and I.seen.a double feature of ESCAPE FROM DEVILS ISLAND plus KINGDOM OF THE SPIDERS. It was on.a Sunday nite and the seating were slings like beach chairs.
There was a milk bar on the right where Oriental Court was. It had mostly mirrored interior with a Playboy pinball machine and sand everywhere..it was a shock to see the cinema go then the milk bar…Ahhh memories!
I used work near this location and a KFC now occupies the location.
Back in the early eighties, a billboard for the Village Drive In was set out as you drove its lot. Last posters were CATHOLIC BOYS & RED SONIA (both were on video at the time and never got to play coz the drive In had closed down and those posters faded over a 3 year period…sad really
These are stories i love reading about…peoples own cinema experiences (instead of petty corrections as I commonly see happen often on this site.

And being the only drive in in the region , the weekly program changed to cater for all tastes. Thursday to Saturday , Adults Only Sunday & Mon to.Wednesday. During Kenric brief run Tuesday night was closed due to poor box office takings.
