Remodeled and rebranded into a Regal Cinemas location sometime in the early 2020s not long after Cineworld acquired Regal and gave their flagship theatres a makeover.
The Alamo Quarry actually opened on March 20th, 1998 by Act III Theatres. The grand opening ad can be seen here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/randallblaum/3155610615/in/album-72157611969735042/
The final films shown at the Village Square on February 12th, 2023 were:
Titanic (25th anniversary rerelease, in RealD 3D), 80 For Brady, Knock at the Cabin, The Amazing Maurice, Pathaan, The Wandering Earth 2, Missing, Plane, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, and Avatar: The Way of Water (in RealD 3D, with HFR).
Opens the day Titanic originally released, and closes with Titanic being one of the final films being shown there. Brings a tear into my eye.
Not really, since Regal is trying to renegotiate the leases with the owner of the property to keep operating the theater. If all else fails, then it’ll close, and like you said, there could be some potential of other theater chains purchasing the locations.
Like the Texas Station, this Regal, alongside the casino itself, closed on March 17th, 2020 and was announced to be demolished in July 2022, which began on September 12th, 2022 and finished sometime near October-November 2022.
Keep in mind that not all of the Regal theatres on that list will close. While some will close, the majority of the leases for the theaters will be renegotiated.
This theater actually opened on August 18th, 1995, according to the former Vice President of Marketing for Act III, Randall Blaum, on his “Texas 12 Theatre Opening” album on Flickr, which can be seen here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/randallblaum/albums/72157612021278909
Additionally, the theater and the casino itself began demolishment on September 12th, 2022, and finished sometime near October-November 2022, alongside the Fiesta Henderson Regal.
Opened on December 19th, 1997 by Act III Theatres. The name was originally supposed to be “Wellington 18”, but was later changed to “Village Square 18”.
Surprisingly closing September 14th (which is today at the time of writing) due to the Cineworld/Regal bankruptcy and them rejecting the leases from underperforming Regals.
The final movies that were shown were: Goodbye, Don Glees! (subtitled), Clerks III, Pitch Perfect (10th anniversary rerelease), Lifemark, Beautiful Blue Eyes, Medieval, Jaws (rerelease, every showtime was in RealD 3D), Honk For Jesus. Save Your Soul., Spider-Man: No Way Home (rerelease), The Invitation, Top Gun: Maverick, Emily the Criminal, Bullet Train, DC League of Super-Pets, Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris, Where the Crawdads Sing, and Minions: The Rise of Gru.
First the Regals at both Texas Station and Fiesta Henderson, now this? What a damn shame.
It’s unknown what the property will become. Hopefully, it won’t sit abandoned.
Went here for my birthday to see Free Guy in 4DX. Enjoyable theater, auditoriums 7-10 have been retrofitted to have recliners, while the others haven’t. The entrance to the auditoriums has only been remodeled, as the rest of the hallways haven’t, which is only the first phrase of the theater being renovated. An employee told me that there were more phrases for the entire theater to be renovated, but they’ve haven’t had the time to do it yet.
Renovated alongside a couple other of Regals operating in Station Casinos a bit late than usual, in late 2019. Shuttered due to the pandemic, but later reopened. The renovation is one of the best I’ve seen. I commonly go to this theater, but the ticket prices were recently raised, and that’s been keeping me away from this theater at the moment.
Renovated in 2019 with new seats in auditoriums, hallways, and entrance, currently closed alongside the Fiesta Henderson’s Regal as well. Hasn’t seen the light of day since the pandemic started in 2020. Unsure when it’ll reopen.
Very mixed about this theater. The standards are actually horrendous - but the premium large formats, IMAX and Dolby Cinema are the best in the city, with the Dolby being the same size as the IMAX.
If I recall correctly, after this theater closed, they were supposed to renovate it into a stand-up theater, but dropped those plans as the place was recently renovated to a “FlyOver” attraction.
There is still very poorly blacked out UA logos around the Showcase Mall. It’s sad that the theater closed.
Reverted back to playing first run movies.

Appears to still be open. The website has showtimes for newer releases up.

What a crying shame that the theater got demolished too. It just hurts to look at this photo.

Yeah, I agree with that, though XD’s projectors aren’t as vibrant and sharp as RPX’s.
I think Auro 11.1 is more precise and has more energy than Dolby Atmos, but you do you.

Ticket kiosks, I meant. My bad.

The best theater I’ve been to in recent years. Sound and projection (even in standards) are top notch. Heavily recommended.
