Please update, OPEN currently running popup films for the summer, but is still renovating with an official opening date later this year with 3 screens and the new name is The Bradley and the website is cinemalab.com
Please correct, this theatre has 9 screens when it was open, never added a 10th screen and the name is REGAL NORTH HOLLYWOOD. Nothing was changed on Regal website.
What your source of the capacity @Theaers are Better. Yours are about 6 seats higher in each screen. My numbers was from Pacific Theatres showclock about 20 years ago. I don’t think the seats were ever replace.
Saw Top Gun Maverick in AMC PRIME, the sound and picture was better then Regal in Regular. Right now, the RPX screen is closed for remodeling.
The original AMC PRIME was in theatre 6 now theatre 8. When AMC decided to rebrand with Dolby Cinema at AMC, the Empire new AMC PRIME is in Theatre 18 AMC PRIME is in only 18 locations across the country, some locations have it with Dolby Cinema and some only with PRIME because the location didn’t meet Dolby requirements for that location to get Dolby Cinema (For example, AMC Marton 8 and AMC Wayne 14 in New Jerse)
Landmark is schedule to take over this theatre soon, Story from Deadline.com
Landmark Theatres has entered into a long-term lease agreement for the Playhouse 7 movie theatre in Pasadena, CA, which was previously operated by Laemmle Theatres since Feb. 5, 1999.
The family-run art house chain built the venue at 673 E. Colorado Blvd. from the ground up. The multiplex is comprised of seven screens, and 1,300 seats. A summer reopening is planned.
Landmark will upgrade the the Playhouse’s sound and projection systems and in the coming months, after opening, will complete an upgrade of the location’s plush, luxury seating.
“The Playhouse acquisition is important for Landmark, as we’re able to continue the tradition of showcasing quality film to Pasadena’s moviegoing community. This theatre has a deep history, which we look forward to honoring and building upon in the years ahead,” said Landmark President Kevin Holloway.
“It is extremely gratifying to be able to continue to serve the community with an arthouse theatre. We are invested in supporting the arts in the Pasadena Playhouse Village area,” says Arash Danialifar.
New concessions will include gourmet and healthy food items, alongside traditional movie theatre favorites, including Orville Redenbacher popcorn and real butter. Beer and wine will continue to be available, with full spirits.
Landmark Theatres’ new openings this summer include the nine-screen complex at Annapolis Harbour Center in Maryland and another ten-screen, 1800 seat theatre in Glenview, a suburb of Chicago, IL, with more locations to be announced.

First, I didn’t say anything about AMC getting Screen X, Screen X is a format that also used in CGV Cinemas. The remaining 22 screens need to seats and the restrooms are not as maintained as Regal.
Don’t understand why AMC can’t due a upgrade of theatre complex. This theatre open 6 months after E-walk. This theatre only got an IMAX, DOLBY and PRIME upgrades. Regal did 3 renovations on E-Walk across the street.
E-Walk is currently under it’s third renovation that Regal has done on this theatre, First time in 2007 after they bought it from Loews Cineplex to rebrand Regal with new seating, #2 was in 2017 was conversion to recliners and 2022 another renovation in addition of Screen X in theatre 2, 4DX moving to Theatre 12 and RPX with Atmos being updated with new seating no recliners according to the manager. They don’t know the grand opening date as of May 13, 2022. I don’t understand why AMC is cheap that the AMC Empire 25 hasn’t received any major renovations.
Please correct, it has 16 screens, not 17 and it includes IMAX Laser, RPX, Screen X and 4DX. It the only Regal in the New York City Metropolitan area to include 4 different large screen complex.
Redstone aka National Amusements were know between 1980 to 1988, first they build additional screens to the end of the hallway and when they ran out of space, theatres like Amboy, Commack and Sunrise Cinemas they would split some of their large 550-700 screens, Sunrise it was 4 of the 8 were split, Commack and Whitestone 2 of the 4 large houses split and Amboy had 2 split. Not for sure how Brookhaven went from 12 to 14.
