anyone into “JAWS” needs to go to the IMPERIAL THEATRE site ON CT,in AUGUSTA,Ga. and see an ad that was NOT done anywhere on any newspaper ad.It is May 27,2010 post. I think you shark fans should be impressed.
Yeah, your right,it is just that i love old theatres so much,{big surprize} that I want to read more, and feel others do,that is why i At least try for a paragraph when I introduce a new theatre and I know there is a lot of filler in those stories.
I think you have it.300 cars is alot for a town that size, but i guess there is no set limits on cars. The Wilkes Theatre{on CT} was a Martin Theatre. It is about 40 miles from my home.My 1956 Motion Picture Almanac has a Washington Drive-in listed under the Martin banner. Thanks.
Kscara,if you are still into CT since your last post was 2006.Louisa.Va. had the Tally Drive-in in the late 50’s.It parked just 200 cars and was owned by Independent Theatre Service.
Don’t know if the BOOKER Drive-in will get any more info than what I wrote, but anything would be great. One of the few Drive-ins in Augusta that no one really knows about.
Love the pictures,Nick. I saw the “JAWS” AD with Bill.Great.
Thanks Nick, wish Bill had a computer to see the great ad you put on.Have you put any more on,i am looking.

I don’t think it was open until 1975.I am pretty sure about that.My 1956 Motion Picture Almanac has it still open as late as 1956.
This one will be a hard one to find info on,but i am looking.
Any more info would be great, but this place is so far away i don’t know if it will get any more info added.
I know there are a lot of Tenn. folks on Ct maybe you can add to this Drive-in.
Any more info would be great.
Anyone from S.C. is welcome to add more.
Not too far off 1-26 Newberry is located the drive-in was at a crossroad with red lights. It was used to park mobile homes last time i went through.
Any more info would be great.

Wonder if the WILSON THEATRE played “WILSON” the bio-pic on President Wilson?
I have just about done all of Augusta’s Drive-ins.
Boy,Ken you are the first person I have come across that has heard of the “POPCORN KID”. Thanks.
I have it parking 790 cars and in 1956 run by INTERSTATE.
Most of the projectionists, not all, tended to always have issue of PLAYBOY or worse in the booth.
The SPARTA DRIVE-IN parked just 196 cars and was owned in 1956 by Cumberland.
Don’t know if the BOOKER Drive-in will get any more info than what I wrote, but anything would be great. One of the few Drive-ins in Augusta that no one really knows about.
Any help with more ino would great, but i don’t expect much for the WASHINGTON DRIVE-in.
Thanks,Bob.
I have this Drive-in 1956 parking 650 cars and was owned by STARLITE THEATRE COMPANY.
