The meg is not playing in dolby but mission impossible is still playing in dolby. closest theater is in paramus. Boo. I’d rather see that in dolby instead of liemax.
I wonder if the loews name will be removed from this theater in the near future since AMC is phasing out the name completely while it renovates the loews theatres.
Went to see Fallout in Imax 2d today. Theater is kinda showing its age by the seats. I almost touched a bug which thankfully i scrubbed off the seat since it was hot outside. Presentation was pretty good. The sound was booming and the imax scenes were worth seeing. Another bonus was seeing the First Man trailer shown before the movie. Can’t wait to see a movie in imax again once they refurbish the seats and add laser projection to this screen to even it up with Dolby Cinema, which is like imax but with vibrating seats.
I wonder if any president has visited this theater since it’s in DC. I know there’s a theater in the White House used solely for the president and his family.
The latest Mission Impossible movie is doing quite well in Imax given the fact that the final scene was shot with Imax cameras. I wonder if they’ll replace the Loews theatres sign with the AMC signage?
More likely laser, since the prints for imax might’ve degraded over time. The laser could be a a restored print from the imax print for digital presentation. 10 years ago, this was the closest theater to get to to see Nolan’s masterpiece the way it was intended to be seen. Sadly, i didn’t go see it that way instead opting to go see it in mansfield in digital scope and later i got the bluray for xmas which is a cropped imax version; the dvd version has a second disc with the imax scenes intact in the 4:3 ratio.
Sorry to Bother You is doing quite well in limited release at this theater despite the fact that the seats in those screens that play the movie are in need of repair.

Is dolby louder than IMAX?

Looks like moviepass will go the way of the dinosaur…
Not to be confused with that other el capitan theater which went by a different name..
They should have dolby cinema here…
It’s now open.
For the recliners, most of them have a switch to turn on the heat in those seats.
Dolby cinema was installed at this theater a few weeks ago with the release of Skyscraper.

This theater isn’t like the Fabian of recent times.
