Okay, Mrs. Settinhen here is someinfo on the SHERIDAN DRIVE-in. It parked 570 cars the owner was Video{ which owned a couple of drive-ins in that city.]
You are right.nick, did tell me once he finished this long story he too forgot a few stories.I do think had i taken the time like Nick,I wouldn’t have guys from the West coast correcting my dates.I mean you gotta admit it was a screw up to say Columbia1 and 2 opened in 1977,WHEN IT WAS 1976. A little more time looking up facts would have been better.Like Nick. Trying to get TLSLOEWS to write some stuff on Nashville theatres, but he is like me i think in that he doesn’t want to get things wrong about a theatre he worked at. Where is Cathy? Boy.never thought her for the shy one.
Cliff,i would have to mail them out to you since i don’t have the stuff to do it. I have color pictures and black and white of the Moonlit after it was closed.
Was this an ABC THEATRE at one time? Because a friend and myself were in Myrtle Beach and since both of us worked for ABC SOUTHEASTERN Theatres we noticed I think 2 theatres. One we went to and saw “THE END” with Burt Reynolds about 1978. Oh, we got in free.
Yeah, Nick is pretty good at this. You have to wait several weeks, but when he puts something out you just hope most of the CT fans will read it. I should have, and i told nick this the other night over the phone,I should have just sat down and crafted a story about NATIONAL HILLS and Columbia 1 and 2,with the IMPERIAL to a lesser extent because i did not work there as much,And just write one long story instead of 123 posts.
550 seats that is a heck of a penthouse. My cousin’s theatre the CAROLINA had what they called a Penthouse, but it sat about 125 people or so.more or less. Stan has almost every Atlanta theatre covered. I think he was a GCC manager.
You couldn’t pay me enought to run a booth and a theatre are kids today are just stupid? They never heard of a union Projectionist that made a living for his family in a carbon dirt booth. How these theatre chains ever got away with it is beyond me. I would like to think if i was a big director or producer; the last person i would want running my film is some 18 year old trying to figure out how to jump the Box office girl, It that clear. REGAL is very anti- union. And of course we know REGAL is out of KNOXVILLE>
I noticed our REUNION pictures have had 29 or so folks look at them. If you want put all those pictures i sent,Even the movie ads for the right theatre.Nick, has his scanner working so i will most likely be sending him some more theatre pics.
I have seen the CHARLIE DANIELS spot.He is a nice guy. He fed me and about 20 other stagehands steaks years ago when he played here. I see some of your comments,in fact i usually track down what you and Nick, and Robin are writing. I am trying to get her to read Nick’s stuff.
Well, i bet you had an adult movie. We usually had DISNEY during the MASTERS. I know you will enjoy the DALE MARBY Drive-in and 20th Century DRIVE-in.Great stories.Heck, you worked a drive-in in the big city of Atlanta. TLSLOEWS if i bump into him at BURGER KING down the street i will say hello.
Boy,Michael i have to agree.in my days only theatre people knew about money. It was never in the news. Now every weekend “LET’S BREAK A RECORD” Ithink often the movie is secondary.
In 1956 it was owned by R.E.&C.B. MacFarland.
And it was owned in 1956 by Video Circuit.
Mrs.Settinhen must be a Oklahoma Lady. Here are some facts on the DUNCAN. It parked 450 cars and was owned by Video Ind.

This sounds like a theatre in L.A. or New York,if you can really call it a theatre. I guess it has to be on CT.
Augusta drive-in parked 315 cars and was owned by Augusta Drive-in Circuit. Don’t know how i left it off the header.

Man,one day i am going to get wise to you.
I bet the group ALABAMA sees movies here, like JAMES BROWN did in Augusta.
Keep adding. you know one day at the rate we are going all the theatres will be listed. I guess that is the game plan.
TLSLOEWS.Does that make sense what Chuck1231 wrote. i know its fact Highway 61 and 62 are the same highway.
