Now it’s allowed. Moviepass merged with moviefone this past week. It’s been ten years since Imax first came here in digital form as well as digital 3d the year after. Flash forward to now and 3d is not doing well not only at the cinema but at home. Premium 2d formats like imax and even dolby have outgrossed 3d and 2d dolby and imax recently as people are getting sick of 3d.
Next year will be ten years since Imax and digital 4k projection came to this theatre. When this theatre first opened, it used preshow digital projectors for live events like the met in HD and 35mm projectors for movies. Flash forward and there’s no 35mm projection anymore.
I heard rumors about a 70mm trailer for the reissue of 2001, which was supervised by Christopher Nolan and will premiere at Cannes on May 12 before arriving in select US theaters on the 18th.
I prefer recliners for older theaters such as Morristown. The only screen in Rockaway that has recliners is the Dolby theater which from what i hear has excellent projection along with the recliners that vibrate.
Ticket prices at this theater have gone up since the renovations last year. I was checking Showtimes for isle of dogs and an evening ticket costs $12.25. It’s still a bit cheaper than Rockaway .
Advance tickets are on sale for the avengers movie Here while loews doesn’t have it. Next year cinemark will provide competition for this theater and AMC.
Amc is planning on renovating this theater soon as work is being done on the cinemark in willowbrook. Avengers Infinity War tickets are not on sale at this theater but in wayne preakness…I wonder why?
Looks like showings of ready player one are sold out especially in dolby. Avengers in dolby is getting full and probably the imax and imax 3d Showtimes will too since the film was shot mostly on imax digital cameras.
Went here for the first time in eight years. This theater despite having projection and sound improvements in theater #7 for black panther had some seats that were broken plus it was a bit cold in the theater. One screen that showed tomb raider had no heat at all according to a notice near the entrance. The box office is in the concession stand and ticket prices for a morning show is like almost eleven dollars. No wonder why this theater is a ghost town with surrounding businesses closing shop…

Yup.
Did the guy who created the Chinese go to China before making this theater?

Ready player one in 70mm this weekend.

It is college break. Yesterday the theater closed due to what could be the last noreaster of the winter and has since reopened today.
Did this theater have stereo sound?

I think it’s because of the snowstorms.
At least the audio will be good for both versions.

Didn’t return of the Jedi played here?
Come next year, the movies will return to willowbrook with cinemark opening up a 12 plex where the Sears auto shop used to be.

Last weekend during a sneak preview of love Simon the theater was evacuated due to a fire alarm going off.

Even my local movie theater in Rockaway, nj draws big crowds from all over northwest Jersey and even afar due to its proximity to route 80.
Today there was a fire at this theater forcing the place to close.
Maybe they’ll put in an RPX screen and renovate the imax .
Which showed empire.
Looks like Bellevue might be revived….
Wasn’t it closed in 2000? Charlie’s angels was one of the last major movies to play here before it’s transformation into retail space…
