The Island Beach Indoor theatre first opened on October 10th, 1957, and then reopened as the Barn theatre on December 23rd, 1962. It closed in 1980 after reopening as a twin on June 16th, 1978. Advertisements for the grand opening have been posted in the photo section.
On January 9th, 1969, the Village Theatre premiered with “Cocgan’s Bluff” and was taken over by Chris McGuire theatres on September 12th, 1969. Cobb Theatres took over on April 4th, 1977, and added a second screen on April 4th, 1977, before expanding to its present six screens on December 17th, 1982.
Regal Cinemas bought it in 1997, Sunstar Theatres in 2002, and Nova Theatres in 2005. Grand opening ads and pictures uploaded in the photo section.
