Thanks Mike, I just happened to drive by last night and checked it out again.I know that movies will never be seen there again but it is good to see that they are still using the face of the building and the lobby area and back of the balcony, the outside walls are still standing.Hopefully when they start renting out the apartments they will have enough money to relight the “Belle Meade"Tower neon and bulbs.
Drove by the whats left of this theatre again last night.The marquee lights were on again although many of the bulbs do not work. A Harris-Tetter store has been build in the footprint of the auditoruim.And it looks like most of the new development has been built.The was a sign on the marquee,which said “Marquee at Belle Meade Apartments” and a phone number which I did not write down at the time.
I do not remember how I got mine either, As The Godfather played at this theatre and others but not of any of the Loews in Nashville.Some one must have just given it to me.BWT I just watched all the GODFATHER movies this past week-end on AMC.
The Godfather was released in 1972,“give them an offer they cannot refuse” I have a one-sheet of this movie,Thanks Mike, and Tennessee Girl,it is great to hear stories from the people who lived it.Keep them coming.
I remember Mr. Vickors, i believe you are right,he was a big wig with Martin Theatres, our city manager was Robert “Bob” Sokol he worked for Loews for many years till he retired.He has sadly passed on since,I am sure I have seen or maybe even knew some of the people you remember,but this was quite some time ago.I also worked at the Loews Melrose and Madison during my years with Loews.These theatres and the Paramount all have pages on Cinema Treasures, check them out.And welcome to Cinema Treasures.

Who was the manager when you worked there? I may have known him, I am 53 and worked down at the Loews Creascent during those years.

Looks like it was closed in the 1986 photos if that is when they were taken,maybe they reopened for a while.
