JodarMovieFan, I saw “Gettysburg” in 35mm when it was released and thought it excellent. It is 70mm blow up. I think the 70mm series is likely films that aren’t blow up, and am eager to see the full list (not yet available online).
My comment was for the other news item, where I’ve now placed it. By googling WSJ, I read the article. The Metro & other historic theaters are mentioned for the interesting architecture.
I noted at the UA King of Prussia 16 page tomorrow’s preview $50 screening of World War Z, but loaded with extras, I think that’s an exception. Unfortunately, many people seem content to watch movies on TV or other devices so it is hard to believe that many movies will be $50 and impossible to believe they will be $100 or $150.

United Artists King of Prussia Stadium 16 is the only Philadelphia cinema to advertise the $50 Mega Ticket for World War Z, June 19 at 7:30 PM in 3 D preview screening that includes a HD digital copy (when available to download), a pair to keep of 3D glasses, a limited edition poster, and a small popcorn.

M Coate, we (Friends of the Boyd) purchased 22 Eric theater photos. I’ve gone to a lot of time & effort to identify all but one & post them on this site (since only one -this one- had its name on the back of the photos) and I’ve added a few theater pages when needed such as this one. I do prefer as accurate details as I can find, but have no time to research primary sources for most theaters. However, if anybody puts detail info as Comments, I do take the time to revise the

22 photos of 13 different Eric theaters were acquired by from someone who had received them in 1980 from Sameric Corporation (originally there would have been many more at Sameric)
5 exterior photos of the Sam Eric (Boyd), Eric Mark One (a rendering), Eric Rittenhouse, Eric Wynnewood, and Eric King have no numbers on the backs.
3 photographs (30592, 3, and 4) have been identified as Eric Concordville (Delaware County, PA).
4 photos (31622, 3, 4, 5) have been identified as Eric Pilgrim Gardens (also Delco)
2 exterior photos (32893, 4) appear to be Eric Lawrenceville, NJ
3 photos (32629, 31, 35) have been identified as Eric Allentown
2 exterior photos (36378, 83) have been identified as Eric Reading (which will soon be added to this website)
One exterior photo (38785) has been identified as Eric II Pennsauken, NJ
One auditorium photo (39130) there are suggestions, but no corroboration yet
One exterior photo (40323) appears to be Eric Feasterville (Bucks County, PA

from Avalon email yesterday- On June 24th, the Avalon will begin the project to install elevator access to Avalon 2 as the final project funded by the Avalon Legacy Campaign. In addition, the downstairs and upstairs lobby areas of theater 2 will be renovated, and new, fully accessible bathrooms will replace the existing restrooms.
Plans to turn it reconstruct the facade & into residences

Tim, thanks for the info, which I will incorporate into that theater’s Intro. Theatre 5 isn’t likely Pennsauken, though. Eric II Pennsauken is 38785. Theatre 5 is 39130. If Theatre 5 was the Pennsauken, then like all the other photo series, the 1st 3 numbers for Theatre 5 would be 387. These auditoriums all seem to have looked so alike…..
I know Theatre 5 isn’t the Eric Mark One because I was there. It is not the Concordville or others I’ve added here because there’s “series” numbers on the back & it doesn’t jive with any of the photos we have. Please add your Pilgrim Gardens recollection to that theater’s page.
