So many locals were afraid of the mold scare,if the Mall was ever to reopen.Having been in the REGENCY EXCHANGE 8 across the street,that complex is eat up with MOLD.

I was thinking about watching “OBLONG BOX” tohight.but settled on “TRUE CRIMES” with Clint.I had parents that would take me to movies as a kid,but they were never like yours and alot the good movies played downtown some 17 miles away from home,now i am right in the city,sadly.I loved the ad in the Paper on “OBLONG BOX” much like the dvd cover.I guess if I had a printer I would run out of paper just printing ads from Augusta theatres.and just think At one time i had saved hundreds of ads clipped from the paper.Guess you did too.wasn’t Friday’s paper the best no matter if it was Nashville,Tampa or Augusta in the good old days of Theatres.Hi Nick and Tis.
Movies were first shown in this city in 1910.By 1914 movies were shownin Fleeting’s Hall.Allan Tom was a theatre pioneer in this city.Still showing movies until his death at age 93 in 1995.There is even a original “love Seat' left in the theatre.35mm projection still with digital projection.AMUSU Theatre is quite a find.
Just recently spent time in the Archieves of the Augusta Chroncile as far back as 1915 I could find no theatre ads at all.I know we had theatres,maybe they didn’t place ads or just put them in for special films?

the ones at GCC were much different.Old rocking Chair theatres were good enough for me in the old days 60’s-70’s.

Those push-Back seats sound like what we had at GCC.I hated Them.
“200 Motels” haven’t seen that on a marquee since I put it up once.Have the One-sheet.
It was another “little film” that Weis Cinemas got and we Didn’t.And we had the Better Twin theatre,not that it matters.
I found out that our Modjeska theatre in Augusta,Ga was a Publix Theatre in 1929 so they had screens everywhere KenRoe.
