The Evans 12 Cinemas opened on March 29, 1996 as a 12 plex cinema with regular seating. Once the Regal 20 opened a few miles up the road, with the fad of the time ‘stadium seating’, Evans Cinemas refitted every cinema with stadium seating and it was renamed Evans Stadium Cinemas.
At that time two large screens were added and talk was they might expand on the other side, but it is still 14 screens and has always been a Georgia Theatre. The booth is state of the art. It has had maybe three managers the whole time it has been open, they tend to stay and not transfer out.

Only been in this one once, summer of 1997 to see that god aweful Batman sequel…….
This is the theater that I went to ask to talk to the theater manager about getting some free tickets for my daughter’s high school band. I was told by some kid that the “manager” only comes in a couple of days a week, and he spends his other time going around to all the other chain’s district theaters, helping out with computer problems. The kid told me that, to save the company money, “managers” are cross-trained to perform duties for the company BESIDES running the theater. I just stood there dumbfounded, looking at the kid, repeating “Really? Really?”. Boy, things sure have changed!! And, no, I didn’t get any free movie passes for the band. The kid couldn’t even tell me who to call about it. Said I’d have a snowball’s chance in getting them!
Glad I git out in 1983,I saw it coming while at GCC.wanting us to close the booth up and let the projectionist go.I wasn’t hired to run film!!!!!
“GIT” meant GOT out.Sounds like “DELIVERANCE”.
Just the other day I found some old cassette tapes at my parents' house I recorded from WBBQ when I was a teenager, and one of the djs was giving away tickets to the new Evans 12 Cinemas…time really flies…
Boy, it does.At one time about all our radio ads for coming movies, reel to reel tapes were always on Q.I still have few of the old reel to reel ads.
