Growing up in Akron, the Ellet was the neighborhood theatre for my mother and her siblings. She recalls seeing many films there, including “A Hard Day’s Night”, for which she and her friends waited in the line that snaked all the way around the block.
Ken, the tidbit about Ingrid Bergman is quite entertaining.
In reference to the theatre submitter’s comments — according to their website, the St. Elizabeth Nursing Home is located at One Saint Elizabeth Way, East Greenwich, RI 02818.
The Hyde Park Picture House is located on the corner of Brudenell Road and Queens Road in Leeds, West Yorkshire. Here is a Google Maps link using the longitude/latitude of the location: View link
Here are three photographs I took of the California on Sunday May 17, 2009. There was a chain link fence around the front of the building, other than that it didn’t look any different to me as it had every other time I’d seen it over the last 15 years or so.

Curt’s Shopping Center is located on the northwest side of East Shawnee Road and Old OK Highway.
The Mines Theater is now operating as The Opera House Mall, 1535 Miner Street.
The Eastwood Mall is located at 5555 Youngstown Warren Rd, Niles, Ohio.
LM, it is so nice to see older pictures when the theatre wasn’t encompassed by Horton Plaza.
