The Miller has it,Someone did take the copper plates below each Switch I guess to keep and not sell for Scrap.FRIENDS OF THE MILLER when they do get back on they probably know about the punks,I think they got caught.
LOL SMOKING on Lorelei and or Linda. My Boxoffice girls had the hardest time giving direction to our theatre,And they ALl lived here there whole lives.Loved the Theatre Business.
I was going by what was said above Jucee,Hope it gets saved. This was a Yulcan Theatre along with the CAMEO gave up on X rated movies in the ninties and started showing mainstream films.Sadly they closed the Rex Twin Cinemas.
Unless I missed it somewhere up above BOXOFFICE reported the Ben Bolt was to be transformed into a Triple Theatre. The Downstairs theatre will have 350 seats and the two upstairs theatres will seat 200.Dolby Sound.Suppose to be ready for mid summer 1985. Source BOXOFFICE June 1985.
looking at old movies ads at the Southpark,“BATMAN and ROBIN” are playing on Screen one and two, says it in the paper, Screen three has “SPEED 2”. SUMMER MOVIE CAMP starting up again.I remember those days.LOL.
Big summer movies 1997 “BATMAN and ROBIN”, “SPEED 2”,“BUDDY”, “SLINGBLADE” [still heldover here}.“AP,MAN OF MYSTERY”.“THE LOST WORLD” was played on three screens during it first few weeks. and “TRIAL and ERROR” played here.Sony Dynamic Digital sound and Digital Surround sound were offered in some of the Theatres. Were are all the Charlotte folks to comment on these Charlotte Theatres.seems like Columbia,S.C. no one seems to care.
Somehow we never played “LAWRENCE OF ARBIA” or “BEN_HUR” during my time in the business in the 70’s.We did get “RYAN’S DAUGHTER” “GWTW” “DR.ZHIVAGO” and my favorite of all time,“2001”.They all ran over three hours are darn close to it.We got the same four dang classics every year from MGM.
Russell, I put the picture of the Road Marquee in the mail TODAY,You might get it Saturday. I wish the Cinemas had used darker letters because in the newsprint picture the Titles are fading, but I wrote them down and guess if you put it on CT you will have to let the readers know the Titles even though I am sure i have listed Somewhere above. I saw on Channel 6 The Marshall’s Department is moving out of the last office in Regency making now an Empty Mall.
It was probably a few years ago when they were working in it.Side note, some Young Punks got in somehow and with a can a spray paint went crazy in there.I think the little B———— got caught. It was in the Newspaper, but can’t remember the date, had i know about CT then I would have saved items like that.Off to stage right is an old time electrical stage lights panel like you see in the old movies.
wonder how it got in my 1956 motion Picture Almanac,Drive-in must have been on the Drawing Board for years before being built,Strange.First Time I think I have come across this in the Almanac.
Great pictures all,guys.

We sure do enjoy everyone you get on.Thanks.I love old Movie ads from the good old days the 60’s-70’s.
I guess in those days they Trusted people.Bonnie and Clyde were gone.LOl.

Susan Robinson was named in 1985 to be the Executive Manager of the Hershey and hopes to improve on the “CLASSIC FILM SERIES” started in 1979.

sadly, the Theatre Chain I worked at,we never got UA product.I missed all the 007’s,but Dirty Harry made up for it.
