Just for the record, it has nothing to do with the blue law in Paramus. The town across the street, Rochelle Park, has been complaing about the late night traffic and the traffic all day Sunday since the theatre opened. It defeats the purpose of the blue law. So they(police)block off all entrances to their town from 10pm to 6am Monday through Saturday and all day Sunday. I work at the mall there but don’t live in either town. Trying to get out of the mall is almost chaotic if you’re not out by 10pm.
I’ve encountered the problem of homeless people using this theater as a shelter in recent years. After getting fed up with snoring, talking to themselves and leaving bodily fluids behind (I won’t give details)I asked the staff about this and they said very nonchalantly.
“They buy a ticket and go from theater to thetaer and stay here all day.” Is this acceptable? Can I do the same, or will I be stopped? Should they have such an apathetic view about homeless people hanging out in the theater? And where do homeless people get $10.75 a day anyways?
I attended the Indiana Jones week and noticed that the darker scenes (The “Well of Souls” scene in Raiders) were a bit too dark. Does this have to do with the quality of print or the projector light being too low…or both?
I’m not sure why buisness fell off. It could be the AMC Clifton Commons a little further down the road on route 3.
Honestly? It’s outdated. Severely. I went to this theater growing up and only stopped a few years ago…because of the AMC in Clifton.
It went bargain about…a year ago? Not sure. I went there for about 20 years after the single screen theater I went to went triplex.
It’s been a year now since this place shut down. The status neeeds to be updated. It looks like they’re starting to gut it.
I drove by here the other day and it looks like it’s closed. It still has a Hop poster up as now showing.
Is there anything playing during the weekdays here?
They shut down the coffee place but it still stands there abandoned. As if they’re not sure what to do with it.
