This is the trailer that was shown at this and other Loews theaters during the 80’s…http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YcXO-iKaJ_Y
During the theater’s final years, big movies would play on multiple screens at both this theater and the meadow six, much like what happened at Paramus with the triplex and the tenplex before the AMC Garden State 16 opened.
this month marks one year since the plaza 8 closed. WHat movie had a long run in this building?
does anyone know when plaza 8 and meadow six opened?
Meadow six opened in June 1982. The Plaza 8 opened in 1987 according to New York Magazine. https://books.google.com/books?id=IeUCAAAAMBAJ&pg=PA66&dq=loews+plaza+8&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjAtbTi54HKAhULmx4KHZ4gAQs4MhDoAQgkMAA
Actually it opened in late 1986 with The Mission being one of the movies shown in 70mm.
Compared to the Plaza 8, the meadow 6 was the better theater.
Never mind. The Plaza 8 was said successor to the Harmon Cove quad.
This opened as Meadow Plaza 8 on December 19th, 1986. Grand opening ad in the photo section.
I saw Pokémon: The First Movie, Welcome to Mooseport and Robots here as a kid. I wish I went here more often. I wish it wasn’t demolished. This was one of my favorite places.
This was the place to go if you wanted to watch a great Disney movie
