Last movies to shown there was SUMMER RENTAL & WEIRD SCIENCE (and they both were on video at the time, so nobody went and that was that).
Last movie was my sister and I went to see DOWN & OUT IN BEVERLY HILLS ((down & out was the condition of the venue and the screen was murky to see..we didn’t stay for the second feature coz it was repeated every weekend)
One of the best cinemas in the Wollongong area!
My first film seen there was MY PRIVATE IDAHO and last was DARKNESS FALLS.
Attended a fun screening of ALIENS during a Halloween movie marathon in ‘92. Seen the TITANIC, FARGO, INDEPENDENCE DAY & SPEED there.
The last film screened was THE MASTER & COMMANDER according to the local paper the film received at standing ovation when the final credits rolled since they knew it was the last time a film was going to screened there.
My sister and I went past it on a Friday nite and the interior looked the same but messy cuz it was a church youth night nite…please someone buy this place and restore it back to its former glory!

we had cheap cinema in our old hometown and it had only one projector (one feature =4 intermissions )
$2 for a ticket? The last time an adult paid that price for a movie was early 1980 in Australia

When i seen THE CHANGELING at the Manly flicks on Sat arvo matinee , it had the whole audience screaming
